ITTC Certificate in TESOL

If you’d like to start your career in teaching the English language, or you’re already a teacher but want to gain a qualification to give you a more solid foundation then the The ITTC Certificate in TESOL may be exactly the course for you.

It’s is a certificate-course in Teaching English Language to Speakers of Other Languages, often known as TEFL and has been designed for speakers of other languages who have an Upper Intermediate (B2 CEFR) level of English.

This course is for people who have little or no experience in the English language classroom, or for current English teachers who want a more solid foundation to their teaching. It’s awarded by ITTC but follows the same programme as the Cambridge CELTA.

You’ll be attached to a group of teacher trainees on a CELTA course at ITTC and you’ll have the same course content, except for teaching practice, when you’ll only teach at lower levels.

In four weeks, you should acquire the skills, knowledge and experience to teach with confidence, and get the satisfaction of knowing you’re doing a great job for your students.

ITTC Cert TESOL: The right course for you?

If you’d like to start your career teaching English language, or you’re already a teacher but want to gain a qualification to give you a more solid foundation in your teaching, then the ITTC Certificate in TESOL may be exactly the course for you.

It’s really practical in nature and you’ll teach our highly-motivated multinational adult learners from week one.

The input sessions and assignments are also very practical, all helping you develop language awareness and teaching skills to benefit your lessons.

The course is very rewarding but it also requires a lot of effort from you during the course. However, your fellow trainees and course tutors will always be there to provide guidance and support.

During the four weeks, as well as attending the course, you’ll also need to spend some time in the evenings and at weekends on your lesson preparation and assignments, but you’ll have free time to see Bournemouth and other parts of the UK and take part on our social programme excursions, organised through our sister language school – ‘BEET’ Language Centre.

This course has a thorough interview procedure. When you apply, we’ll send you an interview task, with questions to help us asses your language level, language awareness and teaching ideas. Your own level of English must be at least Upper Intermediate (B2 CEFR).

Once you’ve completed the task we’ll discuss it with you at interview, either here in Bournemouth, by phone or over the internet, and you can ask us any questions you have about the course and ITTC.

It’s important to note that we want you to be as successful as possible so we’ll only offer you a place if we firmly believe it’s the right course for you.
